BIOGRAPHY

Born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, in 1973. He aspired to become a photographer, carrying within him his late father's dying wish to "have no regrets" and his mother's dream of becoming a photographer. After four years of photography on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, he now resides in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, to photograph red-crowned cranes. He has been battling an illness for several years while continuing his work as a photographer. Previously active within Japan, receiving commissions from Canon, Tamron, National Geographic Japan, and the Wild Bird Society of Japan, his illness has prompted him to expand his activities to share his work globally.He has won awards in international photography contests, had his work published in overseas photography magazines, and presented his work on websites of international photography media outlets.

His publications include "Kingfisher: The Day I Met a Kingfisher," "Crested Serpent Eagle: What Must Be Protected, Ishigaki Island's White Angel," and "Ruddy Kingfisher: The Crimson of Ryukyu." All published by Raichosha. He strives to capture photographs that resemble paintings. For him, photography is the creation of an artistic work, painting with light as the pigment on the canvas of film.

Though I am but a small being, I wish to hold my aspirations high. The photographs I take of wild birds and nature could not exist without a peaceful world. I hope that those who see my photos will smile, wishing for a beautiful Earth, thinking "Let's end war," "Let's make the world peaceful," and "Let's cherish nature." I believe that is my mission.
